1.1   Visitors to our Website

When someone visits www.wildwanstead.org we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things like the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be up front about it, and explain what we intend to do with it.

1.3   Survey Sign Ups

If you sign up to receive surveys from Wild Wanstead we will collect your email address in order to send you those surveys. We will keep your personal data for the duration of the Wild Wanstead project (which may last several years). You can unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of survey mailings. When the Wild Wanstead project finishes your data will be deleted.

1.4   People who Contact Us

If you contact us via our website we will only use that information to answer your query.  We will keep a record of your contact with us for the duration of the Wild Wanstead project (which may last several years). When the Wild Wanstead project finishes your data will be deleted.

1.5   Contacting Us to Volunteer To Plant Wildflowers in Tree Pits 

If you provide your first name, email address and street name in order to volunteer for our project to plant tree pits with wildflowers, we will only contact you about this specific project, no other ongoing or future Wild Wanstead activity. If you provide your address in order for seed to be delivered to you, this information will only be used for this purpose. Your name and email address will only be shared with other people who volunteer to plant wildflowers on your street (if any). By requesting to volunteer we take your consent to do this. We won’t share or sell your data to anyone else. Your data will be stored at Yahoo and will be deleted once the project is complete.

2      How We Use Your Information

We collect information about you in order to:

  • Send you surveys if you sign up for them

  • Respond to correspondence you have sent to us

  • Coordinate the tree pit planting project 

  • Respond to Subject Access Requests

  • Ensure that content on the Site is presented in the most effective way for you and your device

3      Your Rights

As we said, Wild Wanstead will not buy or sell your personal data or share it with third parties.  And we promise to keep your personal information confidential.

3.1   Subject Access Requests

You have a right to access your personal data.  By making a subject access request to Wild Wanstead you can find out what personal data we hold about you, why we hold it and who we disclose it to.  You must make a subject access request in writing, and include proof of your identity.  Please use the Contact Us form if you want to make a subject access request and we will send you correspondence details.  Once we have received your request, we will respond within 40 days.

3.2   Accurate Data

We want to make sure that the information that we hold about you is accurate and up to date. You can ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate or incomplete via the Contact Us form.  Similarly, if you have any concerns about how your personal information has been handled by us, you can contact us via the Contact Us form.  You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office (the ICO). Wild Wanstead retains information and data for two key reasons:

  • To comply with legislation and established best practice;

  • To support our day to day activities and inform our longer-term planning

When the Wild Wanstead project finishes (which may be several years) your information will be deleted.

6      Where We Store and Process Your Information

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access to or loss of such data.
